Max Fried worked five scoreless innings and combined with four relievers on an eight-hit shutout in Kansas City's 3-0 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the win, the Pit Masters took two of three games from the River Walkers.
Fried gave up three hits in his time on the mound. He struck out six and walked none.
Four relievers -- Kyle Nelson, Andrew Ryan, Dario Alvarez, and Zach Burdi -- all worked an inning apiece to close it out.
Burdi earned his seventh save of the season.
Kansas City broke open a scoreless game in the top of the fourth when Greg Jones got a lead-off bunt down and reached base against St. Louis starter Argenis Batista.
He would score on a one-out double by Brian Mundell.
Home runs provided the Masters' other two runs.
Danny Cushing took Batista deep to lead off the seventh inning.
In the eighth, Brian Mundell knocked a one-out bomb off Brad Hand.
