This is a pretty unusual circumstance, but still a bug. I was editing a retired player and assigned him to a team in my league, but forgot to unretire him before doing so. After unretiring the player, he showed up on the free agent list. However, when I went back into the editor, it showed he was on the team to which I'd assigned him. I was able to fix this by going back into the editor, making him a free agent, then reassigning him to the team.
