Jason Skinner took the mound for East Driftwood. He was 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA. He faced Eric Stull, who was 1-1 and had a reasonable 2.45 ERA. Stull was eager to bring the sides back to .500.

The teams went four scoreless innings before an error in the bottom of the fifth allowed East Driftwood to score. After pulling the infield in for Skinner, West Driftwood were made to pay as Skinner hit it past second base and into centre field to score two more runs. Though the three outs came quickly, East Driftwood were 3-0 up. They added to more in the seventh as West Driftwood faded. West Driftwood got a run back in the bottom of the seventh but the spark wasn’t present. They got a second run back in the bottom of the ninth but a comeback just wasn’t meant to be.
