With the standings tied, East Driftwood looked to Jorge Sanchez (1-1, 2.82 ERA) to end their recent slump. Tommy Crawford (1-2, 3.68 ERA), who was struggling through his first few starts, was given the assignment to continue the winning streak.

A James Jefferson triple in the top of the first gave West Driftwood an early 3-0 lead. Their lead lasted until the bottom of the third, which saw East Driftwood score four. They would add two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-3 in favour of East Driftwood. They continued to score, pushing their lead to 7-3 by the bottom of the fifth. West Driftwood’s next run came in the top of sixth, cutting East Driftwood’s lead to three. They would add a fifth run following a Brian Swift triple in the top of the eighth but East Driftwood would hold the lead to end a four-game losing streak.
