With things tied a 11, West Driftwood turned to Rick Cavazos (0-2, 4.60 ERA) in the hopes of taking a lead in the final stretch of the series. The consistent Alberto Sanchez (2-0, 3.48 ERA) was set to pitch for East Driftwood as they tried to bounce back from the late-game loss the day before.

James Jefferson put West Driftwood on the board early with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning and added a third run before the inning was over. Cavazos gave up two runs in the bottom of the third but East Driftwood were unable to find the tying run. An inning later, they found the lead as they scored twice. West Driftwood were unable to stem the tide of runs as East Driftwood added two more in the bottom of the eighth. It was a bad day for West Driftwood as East Driftwood pulled ahead in the standings.
