CD, I found about 15 books by Duane Decker at my local library.
I used all of the Blue Sox players in my Islandian Pro Alliance... got all of the player ratings from reading the books.
Eddie Lasky, Yank Yoland and Bix Hanson were pitchers.
Pete Gibbs was a catcher.
Marty Blake was a first baseman... power hitter... Stretch Stookey replaced him... a contact hitter, but standout fielder.
I'm doing this from memory.
Bud Walker was a second baseman.
Johnny Madigan was a third baseman.
Andy Pearson was a shortstop... so was Eddie Lasky before he became a star pitcher... I think a leg injury forced him to become a pitcher.
Egotistical Slick Hammel was a real good hitter, but not strong defensively... Bud Walker eventually took second base from him.
Kenny Willard was an outfielder... right field, maybe... Willard was black... the only one on the team... that was something when these books were written.
Augie Marshall was a left fielder... home-run hitter.
Mike Jaffe was an outfielder.
Russ Woodward was the center fielder... he replace Vic Valenti.
Pete Fiske was a right fielder... contact hitter... just a fair fielder.
