Terrin Vavra was 4 for 4 with two homers and three RBIs to help power Cedar Rapids to a 6-1 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
With the win, the Golden Grapplers swept the three-game series with the River Walkers who have dropped five straight.
Cedar Rapids jumped on St. Louis starter Alex Faedo for four runs in the top of the first.
Vavra drove in the first two runs with his first homer.
Alex Bregman plated the other two with a double.
The Grapplers other two runs came in the fifth, Vavra with his second long ball of the game off Faedo, and seventh when a Dominic Smith sacrifice fly scored Matt McLain who had drawn a walk from John Curtiss to start the inning.
On the mound, Sean Harp (3-0) worked an impressive six innings allowing one run on two hits.
Merandy Gonzalez handled the seventh inning and the final two belonged to Wilman Madera who also kept the River Walkers off the board.
