Walkers news: May 28 -- St. Louis 6, Milwaukee 0
Record: 22-30, 5th, 6.5 GB Springfield
Jimmy Lambert pulled off one of the rarest feats in baseball in today's game, tossing a complete-game shutout in St. Louis' 6-0 win over Milwaukee at County Stadium (1976).
Lambert allowed four hits in his game, while striking out eight and walking none.
The River Walkers got most of their offense from the long ball.
They did, however, manufacture their first run.
Alek Thomas led off the game with a single. Keg Lifters starter Robert Stephenson then walked Bo Bichette moved him to second.
A wild pitch planted Thomas at third.
He scored on a Tanner Kohlhepp ground out.
It stayed 1-0 until the sixth, when Tanner Kohlhepp cranked a three-run home off Stephenson.
Jared Thomas hit a solo shot in the same inning, making it 5-0.
Larry Ernesto wrapped up the scoring with a lead-off homer off Cody Deason in the eighth.
