Walkers news: June 9 -- Detroit 1, St. Louis 0
Record: 28-35, 5th, 7.5 GB Des Moines
Hunter Greene carried a shutout into the eighth inning and Kyle Schwarber delivered the game's lone run with a homer as Detroit downed St. Louis 1-0 at Busch Stadium (1997).
The win allowed the Wheelmen to grab the final game of the three-game series after dropping the first two.
Schwarber provided the game's only run with a two-out, 379-foot blast off River Walkers starter Steven Brault in the top of the fourth.
Greene lasted until there was one out in the eighth inning, giving up just three hits.
He struck out seven and walked one.
Jose Alvarado got the final two outs of the eighth.
The ninth belonged to Alex Claudio, who set St. Louis down in order for his 17th save.
