Unfortunately I have already moved on - I should have saved the game under a different name before continuing - sorry - my bad.
At any rate, I went into commissioner mode and gave entry level contracts to the 2018 draftees I was afraid of losing - I didn't do anything with any prospect with a later draft date.
To answer your questions, I am in the 2021-2022 regular season and as far as I can tell, I haven't let anyone's rights lapse (at least not anyone I was interested in eventually signing).
I have uploaded a saved game titles "Missing_prospects" - I hope it's helpful and sorry again for not saving right when I noticed the issue.
