Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer and Francisco Mejia had an RBI double as Cincinnati scored twice in the bottom of the second inning and cruised to a 7-1 win over St. Louis at Riverfront Stadium (1970).
Both the runs came off River Walkers starting pitcher Alex Faedo.
Mejia's double scored Derek Fisher, who had followed Freeman's long ball with a triple.
Freeman scored again in the fourth, leading off with a double off Faedo and scoring on an Ronald Acuna Jr. single.
St.Louis got its lone run in the fifth off Skyline starter Kirby McIntyre.
Jean Carmona drew a walk to leadoff the inning and scored on an Alek Thomas sacrifice fly.
That run snapped a 24-inning scoreless streak for the Walkers.
Pinch-hitter Trent Grisham had an RBI double off reliever Caleb Ferguson in the seventh.
The Skyline added three more in the eighth.
Freeman, Derek Fisher and Mejia all had RBI doubles in the inning.
Cincinnati starter Kirby McIntyre worked five innings, allowing one run on two hits.
Jon Gray handled the sixth and seventh inning.
Reyes Moronta (0.2 IP) and Frankie Montas (0.1) combined to handle the eighth.
Patrick Corbin worked around a pair of hits in the ninth to end it.
