Walkers news: August 23 -- Green Bay 5, St. Louis 3, 10 innings

Record: 66-63, 3rd, 5.5 GB Quad City
Mike Trout hit a two-run homer off St. Louis reliever Edwin Diaz in the top of the 10th inning to lift Green Bay to a 5-3 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
The loss ended a nine-game winning streak for the River Walkers.
Diaz (3-5) had gotten through the ninth inning unscathed but hit Kyle Cueller with a pitch to open the 10th.
Trout than pounded a 2-2 pitch 365 feet over the right-field wall to give the Long Haulers the lead.
Green Bay broke open a scoreless game in the fifth inning.
Pitcher Aaron Civale drove in the first run with a single off Walkers starter Jimmy Lambert. Cuellar made it 2-0 with another single two batters later.
Bobby Bradley led off the sixth with a homer, also off Lambert.
St. Louis tied it in the eighth on a three-run homer by Andrew Benintendi.
Civale worked 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing four hits. He struck out six and walked one.
Luis Angel Medina (0.2 IP) and Richard Lovelady (0.2) combined to complete the seventh inning and finish the eighth.

Chad Greed (7-4) allowed two hits, but no runs in the ninth.
Ryan Zeferjahn handled the 10th, earning his first save.
