Walkers news: August 26 -- St. Louis 7, Chicago 3

Record: 68-64, 3rd, 4.5 GB Quad City
St. Louis scored three runs in both the second and third innings to take a 6-0 lead and rode a strong start from Alex Faedo to a 7-3 win over Chicago at Wrigley Field (1979).
The second inning saw the River Walkers bang out four hits leading to their three runs.
Romy Gonzalez got it going with a lead-off single off G-Men starting pitcher Franklin Perez.
Jared Thomas drew a walk,and with one out Christian Arroyo doubled to start the scoring St. Louis going up 1-0.
George Valera chased in the second run with a ground out.
A single from Alek Thomas made it 3-0.
The third inning was quite similar, as again the Walkers used three hits to plate a trio of runs.

Three two-out singles -- from Jared Thomas, Nick Poirier and Christian Arroyo -- loaded the bases before George Valera drew a walk, bringing home the game's first run.
Faedo followed with a double, scoring two making it 6-0.
Faedo worked seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out five and walked four.
Nick Lodolo didn't allow a run in the eighth.
Kenley Jansen did the same in the ninth to close it out.
