Over the course of his career, Ryan Rodgers has been an iron man, never having suffered an injury that required he be put on the IL until 1972 (and that was a freak injury in which he hurt his elbow while arm wrestling in a bar.)
But he is 36-years old and I guess some aches and pains are going to start to manifest themselves late in a career.
Unfortunately for the Brewers Rodgers injury comes at the same time that they are without the services of fellow super star outfielder Joe McPhillips.
I guess this is where it is good that outfield is an area of relative strength for the Brewers. It appears that we will get to see what the kids can do: Zach Cook is already on the team and had a nice first game (more soon) and it appears Jorge Gonzalez may be called up next.
In addition, right fielder Josh Schaefer is all of sudden red hot at the plate and will certainly be getting more AB's in the absence of Rodgers and McPhillips.
