Argenis Batista allowed one run over six innings to help lead St. Louis to a 6-2 win over Cedar Rapids at Busch Stadium (1997).
Batista allowed one run on four hits in his six innigs. He struck out nine and walked one.
The River Walkers led 3-1 when Batista exited the game.
Jared Thomas hit a two-run homer off Golden Grapplers starting pitcher Rick Atkinson in the second inning, giving the Walkers a 2-0 lead.
A Jose Leyva homer in the fourth off Batista made it 2-1.
St. Louis got that run back in the sixth against reliever Jared Carkuff.
Rhys Hoskins reached on a one-out error by Grapplers right fielder Domingo Santana.
He would scored on a two-out double from Johan Camargo.
Hoskins broke the game open in the bottom of the eighth with a three-run homer off reliever Jose Alvardo.
Nick Lodolo worked a scoreless seventh inning for the Walkers
Dan Jennings recorded the first out of the eighth.
Danny Grigg hanled the rest, being on the mound for five outs.
The effort earned Grigg his first save of the season.
