In the American League,m the Boston Red Sox are trying to stay in the hunt behind the St Louis Browns. Over in the National League, not much competition as New York holds
a 11.5 game lead over Brooklyn. Lou Gehrig (Pittsburgh) needs 8 HR to tie Babe Ruth's career mark of 577. Also Jimmy Foxx (Red Sox) is closing in on his 500th HR.
