Walkers news: July 20 -- Green Bay 5, St. Louis 3, Game 1

Record: 59-33, 1st, 9.5 GA Kansas City
Ozzie Albies hit a two-run homer off St. Louis starting pitcher Derek Gordon in the top of the first inning and Green Bay never trailed while posting a 5-3 win in the first game of a doubleheader at Busch Stadium (1997).
Andrew Lee opened the game with a lead-off doublke and scored when Albies spanked a Gordon pitch 388 feet over the wall in right field for a 2-0 lead.
It was Anthony Rendon who produced a long balk in the third off Gordon to make the Long Haulers advantage 3-0.
After the River Walkers scored in the bottom of the third, Green Bay quickly got that run back in the top of the fourth.
Aaron Judge reached on an error by shortstop Jean Carmona to open the stantz.
A ground ball moved Judge to second, and Austin Hedges chased him home with a double.
Jared Thomas led off the bottom of the seven for St. Louis with a single off reliever Mike Goodkin and scored on a Carlos Vidal single off Wade Davis to make it 4-2.
Green Bay got its lead back to three in the ninth.
Chance Sisco doubled off Nick Lodolo and scored on an Andrew Lee single off Danny Grigg, as the Haulers lead grew to 5-3.
Wacha (5-7) had a strong outing allowing one run on four hits.

Jamie Callahan, Mike Goodkin and Wade Davis all pitched two-thirds of an inning to get the game to the eighth.
Richard Lovelady handled the eighth.
Luis Medina gave up a ruun in the ninth, but it was not nearly enough as the Haulers came out of it with a win.
