Walkers news: Sept. 2 -- St. Louis 3, Springfield 2

Record: 78-54, 1st, 6.5 GA Springfield
Springfield relief pitcher Franmil Reyes threw a ball hit to him by St. Louis' Reese McGuire into the outfield to allow Tanner Kohlhepp to score the winning run, as the River Walkers downed the Prairie Fighters 3-2 at Busch Stadium (1997).
Kohlhelpp led off the bottom of the ninth with a single, and moved to second when Johan Carmargo followed with another base knock.
Reyes struck out Jean Camargo for the first out.
Luke Madden replaced Reyes and on the first pitch he threw, McGuire hit it straight back at him.
His throw ended up in he outfield.
Springfield had tied it 2-2 in the top of the seventh.
Daniel Becerra tripled with one out and scored when Eugenio Suarez singled off Jake Brentz.
Civale pitched the first 6.1 innings,allowing two runs on five hits. He struck out four and walked none.
Despite allowing the run to score, Brentz finished the seventh inning and added a scoreless eighth.
Nick Lodolo got the first two outs of the ninth, and making his major league debut, Adam Wegner got Becerra to fly out to get the game to the bottom of the ninth still tied.
Wegner (1-0) walked away from it with his first big league win.
