Walkers news: Sept. 19 -- Des Moines 3, St. Louis 2
Record: 88-61, 1st, 5 GA Springfield
Jackson Miller and Andrew Foley hit back-to-back home runs off St. Louis starting pitcher Steven Brault in the top of the fourth inning and Des Moines never trailed en route to a 3-2 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
The Harvesters added their third run an inning later with the help of an error by Brault.
After hitting Nander De Sedas with a pitch to open the inning, Brault fielded a ball hit by Carlos David Rodriguez only to throw the ball into center field as he tried to get a force at second.
Pitcher Yeo-San Park moved the runners to second and third with a bunt.
De Sedas scored when John Lehto grounded out.
The River Walkers finally got on the board in the sixth against Park when Andrew Benintendi led off with a homer.
The Walkers other run came with two outs in the ninth when pinch-hitter Larry Ernesto hit a solo homer off reliever Bryan Garcia.
But Garcia struck out Bo Bichette to end it, and earn his 27th save of the season.
Park (9-7) pitched six innings, allowing the one run on four hits.
Leo Vazquez and Omar Benitez both worked an inning before Garcia handled the ninth.
