Walkers news: Catcher Hedges signed to minor-league deal
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of veteran catcher Austin Hedges to a minor-league deal.
The 33-year-old Hedges played in 37 games last season for Green Bay, batting .173 with six homers and 11 RBIs.
This is his second tour with the Walkers, having played 79 games for them in 2022.
Where Hedges will end up is a question, he could serve as the backup to starting catcher Jared Thomas or he could end up being a mentor in Memphis if top prospect Clay Owen should make the team as he can backup both Thomas and Rhys Hoskins at first base.
