Record: 5-3, 1st, 1 GA Cedar Rapids, Kansas City, Quad City, Des Moines
Admonis Mednia worked eight scoreless innings and the St. Louis bats pounded Cedar Rapids for 12 runs on 16 hits in a 12-0 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
Medina (1-0) allowed just two hits while striking ot eight and walking none.
Derek Gordon took care of the ninth in this lopsided game.
Rhys Hoskins put the River Walkers up in the second inning with an RBI triple off Golden Grapplers starter Takahiro Norimoto.
Hoskins later scored on a wild pitch.
It was 4-0 after three, Andrew Benintendi with his first homer of the season, a two-run shot.
St. Louis broke it open with a four-run bottom of the seventh.
Fernando Tatis Jr. open the inning with his first homer of the season, hit off reliever Javier Medina.

Two of the runs scored on a fielding error by Grapplers center fielder Jose Leyva.
The Walkers made it ugly with another four-run inning in the eighth.
Hoskins did the bulk of the damage with a three-run homer off Zach Schellenger.
