Down 6-1, Cedar Rapids tied it with five runs in the top of the fourth inning and then added single talllies in the sixth and seventh before the rains hit, as Cedar Rapids downed St. Louis 8-6 in an rain-shortened game at Busch Stadium (1997).
The win allowed the Golden Grapplers to salvage the final game of the three-game series after dropping the first two.
Trailing by five, the Grapplers took St. Louis starter Steven Brault to the woodshed in the top of the fourth.
They banged out five hits, including two-run homers from Je'Von Ward and Noah Naylor.
RJ Teijeiro drove in the inning's first run with a double.
Cedar Rapids took the lead in the sixth, when Mark Vientos led off with a double off St. Louis reliever Nick Lodolo and scored on a Dominic Santana single off John Curtiss.
Teijeiro took Tim Hill deep with one out in the seventh, putting the Grapplers up 8-6.
The rains hit hard in the bottom of the seventh and never stopped as the umpire's called it, giving Cedar Rapids the win.
