Walkers news: June 10 -- St. Louis 5, Columbus 1

Record: 32-27, 1st (Tied/w. Springfield), 1 GA Des Moines
Steven Brault allowed one run over eight innings and St. Louis completed a three-game sweep of Columbus with a 5-1 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
Brault took a shutout into the eighth inning, by which time the River Walkers had built a 5-0 lead.
The Golden Bears did get to Brault for a run in his final inning -- Max Moroff had a pinch-hit triple and scored on a Nolan Gorman single -- but John Curtiss worked around a pair of base runners to keep it 5-1.
St. Louis took control with three runs off Columbus starter Jovan Gill in the bottom of the second.
Andrew Benintendi reached on a error by shortstop Orlando Arcia to open the inning, ending up at second on the wild throw.
A balk moved Benintedi to third and he scored on a Jean Carmona triple.
Jared Thomas followed with a two-run homer.
The Walkers other two runs came in the seventh.
Thomas drew a lead-off walk from Bears reliever Omar Garcia.
An Larry Ernesto single moved him to second and he would score on a Bo Bichette sacrifice fly.
Carlos Vidal connected on a two-out triple to score Ernesto.
