Walkers news: June 24 -- St. Louis 5, Kansas City 2

Record: 40-30, 1st, 2.5 GA Springfield
St. Louis used three singles and a pair of walks to snap a 3-3 tie an send it to a 5-3 win over Kansas City at Busch Stadium (1997).
The win gave the River Walkers a sweep of the two-game series.
St. Louis put its first four hitters aboard in the seventh inning.
Jean Carmona and pinch-hitter Vidal Brujan both singled off reliever Nick Goody.
Bo Bichette drew a walk to load the bases.
Carlos Vidal took another walk to break the tie.
Andrew Benintendi drove in Brujan with the inning's second run with a sacrifice fly.
The Walkers added an insurance run in the eighth.
They opened the inning with three straight singles -- from Jared Thomas, Jean Carmona and pinch-hitter Edmond Americaan -- off reliever David Berg.
Carlos Vidal later drew a one-out walk from Austin Hansen to score Thomas.
The Walkers had tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of th fifth.
Thomas led off the inning with a double and scored when Pit Masters catcher Logan Tanner who made an errant throw to first while trying to pick off Jean Carmona, who had singled to move Thomas to third.
Walkers starting pitcher Tanner Bibee allowed two runs on three hits over six innings.
Luis Palomo (1-0) would earn his first victory of the season after a scoreless seventh inning.
Argenis Batista worked a scoreless eighth.
Angel Tiburcio handled the ninth to collect his first career save.
