Today Frank Viola and the Giants take on Mike Morgan and the Phillies.

It turns out that I was starting after all.

I led off the game by finally getting my batting average back above .100 with a single through the right side. I stole 2nd. I took 3rd on a wild pitch. Robby Thompson walked. Chili Davis walked to load the bases with none out. Ruben Sierra hit into a fielder's choice and I scored. That's all we were able to get.

Giants lead 1-0

The Phillies got it back quickly as Tim Raines scored on a a double by Alfredo Griffin.

Game tied 1-1

Ron Hassey led off the bottom of the 2nd with a home run.

Phillies lead 2-1

I came up with one out in the 3rd and grounded out right back to Morgan.

I made my first defensive play in the bottom half, grabbing a tough liner by Griffin for the 1st out. Raines scored on a Dwight Evans single.

Phillies lead 3-1

In the 4th Chili doubled and scored on a single by Ruben.

Phillies lead 3-2

In the bottom half I caught a pop by Ricky Jordan to end the inning.

I came up in the 5th with one out and Mike Aldrete on 2nd. Billy Ferguson was pitching. I grounded out to Von Hayes at 1st, advancing the runner. He scored can single by Robby.

Game tied 3-3

Scott Service took over on the mound for us.

I was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 8th.

We ended up scoring a couple in the 9th for a 5-3 win.

I went 1 for 3 with a single, a run scored, and a stolen base. I am hitting .118

I am glad I didn't get that day off.
