Orlando Sanchez 1981
Sanchez was taken by the Royals in the rule 5 draft from St. Louis. He went just 1-10 with KC before he was waived and claimed by Baltimore. His first and only hit came in his first AB for KC when he got a pinch hit and drove in 2 (including the go ahead run) against Cleveland's George Frazier
What I remember most about Sanchez was the Royals used to allow fans to watch a workout prior to opening day....I don't really remember seeing the established players but I absolutely remember seeing Sanchez and Tucker Ashford. Perhaps it was because I had to explain to those around me who these guys were...
