You are correct.
I have no shot. I will not take the time to play the auction house and join the tournaments to the level I would need to in order to compete at the tip top highest levels.
However, I do predict that there will be at least 1 try-hard FTP team that will grind enough to eventually have a team that wins a Perfect League (I assume there will be more than 1 by the time this happens, hence the indefinite article). Of course, it will be completely indistinguishable from those who paid in money to grow their teams...
