To import from 16 is easy you just need to import into 17, then 18, then 19 and so on.
As to finding the saved game folder.
Game files are stored in the data/saved_games directory, and each saved game is contained in a separate directory, ending in a .lg extension. For example, if your game is called MyGame, then there will be a directory called data/saved_games/MyGame.lg.
This is generally in 2 locations, if you did the default install it'll likely be in your documents folder. If you did a custom install location it could also be in your documents folder OR it's in the install folder
