1996 MLB Draft
The first player taken in the draft was actually a hitter! John Land has top-of-the-line speed and solid potential across the board.

D.J. Hensley went second in the draft with his three-pitch arsenal that is nearly MLB-ready.

The top high schooler was Xavier Carrigan, a right-handed catcher out of Oregon with tons of offensive potential but not much of a chance to stay behind the dish on defense.
