Walkers news: Sept. 7 -- St. Louis 3, Chicago 0, Game 2

Forced to utilize a bullpen game,.the St. Louis River Walkers saw four relievers combine on a four-hit shutout as they downed Chicago 3-0 to complete a doubleheader sweep at Busch Stadium (1997).
Seven St. Louis pitchers combined to work 18 scoreless innings in the twinbill, limiting the G-Men to just seven hits.
Rookie Ricky Cisneros got the start and recorded the first 10 outs before tiring in the top of the fourth inning.
Nick Lodolo came on to finish that inning without incident.
Veteran right-hander John Curtiss worked quiet fifth and sixth innings and also notched the first two outs of the seventh.
The rest belonged to Jake Brentz, who allowed just one base runner over the final 2.1 innings to earn his 10th save.
Curtiss (3-3) came out of it with the win.
Just called-up from AAA Memphis, rookie catcher Clay Owens also had a memorable game with solo homers in he second and fourth innings, both off G-Men starter Chris Rodriguez.
The first homer opened the scoring. The second closed it.
In-between an RBI single from Fernando Tatis Jr. in the bottom of the third made it 2-0.
