Walkers news: Sept. 8 -- St. Louis 6, Chicago 1

Record: 79-59, 1st, 6.5 GA Des Moines
Adonis Medina didn't match the back-to-back shutouts St. Louis posted in the previous day's doubleheader sweep of Chicago, but he came pretty darn close limiting the G-Men to a single run over seven innings of a 6-1 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
An RBI groundout from Cory Acton scored Nolan Jones to end a 21-inning string of scoreless innings for Chicago in the top of the fourth, however by that time the River Walkers already led 5-0.
Medina would end up allowing the one run on seven hits in his seven innings. He struck out three and walked the same number.
Argenis Batista kept Chicago off the scoreboard in the eighth and ninth to complete the win.
St. Louis struck early against G-Men starting pitcher Josh Hader.
Hader hit Bo Bichette with a pitch to begin the bottom of the first.
Carlos Vidal moved Bichette to second with a bunt and Rhys Hoskins chased him home with a single.
That lead grew to 5-0 in the bottom of the third.
An RBI double from Andrew Benintendi made it 2-0. The next hitter, Fernando Tatis Jr., quickly expanded it with a three-run homer off Brian Keller, who had just relieved Hader.
Tatis collected a fourth RBI in the eighth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly.
