Walkers news: Sept. 10 -- Twin Cities 6, St. Louis 2

Record: 80-60, 1st, 6 GA Des Moines
Twin Cities jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings and cruised to a 6-2 win over St. Louis, snapping the River Walkers' eight-game win streak, at Busch Stadium (1997).
For the second consecutive start, St. Louis rookie starter Jason Froelich struggled.
He gave up back-to-back doubles to Byron Buxton and Javier Valdes in the second inning as the Snow Cats took a 1-0 lead.
An inning later, he saw Twin Cities load the bases with two outs, but could not close out the inning before three runs had scored.
Buxton struck again, this time with a run-scoring single.
Valdes upped his RBI total for the game to three with a two-run single.
Twin Cities went up 6-1 in the sixth, this time primarily against reliever Derek Gordon who gave up singles to three of the four batters he faced.
The third single to Mitch Bernier made it 5-1.
The Cats' sixth run scored when Josiah Miller hit into a fielder's choice against Luis Palomo.
Twin Cities starter Mack Anglin allowed just one run on three hits over five innings. He whiffed seven and walked three.
Luke Weaver (1.0 IP), Alex Gallegos (2.0) and Nicio Rodriguez (1.0) combined to finish off the win for Twin Cities.
