Mario Herrera, 3B

Herrera has a strange Hall of Fame case. He only went to one all-star game, but yet his overall value ranks up there with Aidan Rice and Jody Davison. He wasn't a "compiler" either, having a mostly normal career length, taking over the starting job at age 20 and moving into a backup role at age 34. He was just so consistent with 2-5 WAR every year. He also had great baserunning value, leading the league in stolen bases in both 1985 and 1986. He ranks second all-time in third basemen for stolen bases, just behind Alonso Carvajal who played in the days of huge stolen base numbers of the early 1900s.

Will Fonseca, 3B

Fonseca actually had more awards at third base than Herrera, but most of those came over the span of just a couple of years. The early parts of his career were only about average value, keeping him just out of the Hall.
