Des Moines jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and poured it on late as the Harvesters routed St. Louis 11-2 at Busch Stadium (1997).
Des Moines put three of its first four batters aboard in the top of the second against River Walkers ace, the one out was a sacrifice bunt, as the Harvesters took that 2-0 lead.
Elih Marrero drove in the first run with a single. The other scored on a passed ball.
An RBI single from Larry Ernesto off Des Moines starter Ronny Carvajal in the fourth made it 2-1.
But it got ugly after Faedo exited after pitching only five innings.
Des Moines put up two runs in the seventh, Andrew Foley with an RBI single off Nick Lodolo while Rafael Devers collected an RBI with a single off Williams Jerez.
The Harvesters lead doubled in the seventh after Andrew Foley hit a grand slam off Angel Tiburcio.
Des Moines piled on three more runs in the ninth off Argenis Batista.
Rafael Devers greeted Batista with lead-off homer. John Lehto later notched a two-run single.
Carvajal (4-1) went the first five innings, allowing the one run on five hits.
Reyes Moronta and Albert Hernandez both handled an inning apiece.
The final two belonged to Matt Sarullo.
