I thought I would share some of my universe that I've been working on from maybe OOTP 13 or so. Granted some of the teams, uniforms, ballcaps, etc. are borrowed from many of the great custom graphics people out there: knuckler, robo and txranger among many others.
I started my league in 1890 with two leagues: the Eastern League and the National Baseball League. I league was made up of baseball clubs (no nicknames). In 1895, the Players League formed as well as a Cuban league.

The 3 American leagues merged most of their teams to form the USBL in 1900 and developed nicknames for their team. Currently, I am in the year 1907 (using 1987-ish modifiers).

My plan is to expand to almost 50 teams by the 1980s or 1990s. I will also have leagues in England with relegation, Japan, a more formal Cuban league, Canada, Australia, Venezuela, Mexico and others.

I also start introducing college teams around 1920 and add more until 1950 when most of the Div 1A teams will be included.
