The Dallas Stars asserted their home-ice advantage tonight as they put down the Calgary Flames by a score of 3-2 and advance to the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The win came on the back of a dominate 1st period where Dallas chased Giguere from the crease with 3 goals on the first 6 shots of the game. The Flames pused back with two goals in the 3rd but were unable to get the critical tying goal, sending them to the off-season.

"This was a tough round. This team was happy to be back in the playoffs and were very hungry for 7 games." Noted Dallas coach Hitchcock (pictured). "We went to work early and got a nice lead but they made it close."

With the game in the books, the Flames' season is officially over. Many questions now surround the future of Head Coach Paul Maurice who signed a 2 year deal to start the year. There are rumblings around the organization that GM Fyvie was not overly happy with how Maurice handled the roster throughout the year. Many think Fyvie may step back behind the bench next season. GM Fyvie was not available to comment.
