W, (2-0) @Tropicana Field
We traveled to Tampa to face the Rays in a short 2 game interleague series. The first game was a pitching duel that we managed to win. Graveman went 8 innings for us allowing no runs and just 5 hits. Brad Hand completed the shutout by throwing a perfect ninth inning. McKay and the Rays pitching staff also had a good game but a couple of back to back solo shots from Vazquez and Castro on the second inning decided the game in our favor.
L, (2-4) @Tropicana Field
McGrath was scheduled to start for us but before the game, he had some injury soreness and we had to rely on the bullpen for all the game. It was a valiant effort from them but we lost the game. Keone Kela allowed 2 runs on the fifth inning. Jon Lester started for the Rays and had a good game by only allowing one run in 7.2 innings.
L, (5-7) @Citi Field
We dropped the first game of the series after a poor outing from Richards and McGrath. Eaton had a good game offensively by going 3 for 5 with 3 runs batted in.
League News
A big trade as the Reds shipped Moustakas to the Mets. They received Seth Lugo and a minor leaguer, C Jackson Greer.
