Post 2021 Week 23. (81-54)

W, (9-6) @Marlins Park
In spite of the struggles by Max Scherzer, we took the first game of the series against the Miami Marlins. Scherzer gave up 5 runs in six innings whilst punching out 10. At the top of the ninth, we were down by one run when Ryan Zimmerman went deep with the bases full and gave us another comeback win.

W, (5-3) @Marlins Park
Another ninth-inning rally helped us secure the second win of the week and the 80th of the season. The offense struggled all game but in the final inning, we came up big against Tommy Eveld and scored 4 runs. Daniel McGrath allowed just 3 runs in seven innings. Bourque and Rainey handled the final two innings. Eaton had a good game by going 2 for 4 with a couple of runs batted in.

Roster Moves
Patrick Corbin who was injured in spring training was recalled from his rehab assignment and will make his season debut. Will Crowe was demoted. Phelps was placed in the 15-day IL and Drew Harrington was promoted.

W, (8-4) @Marlins Park
We swept the Marlins at their own home thanks to another good offensive performance. Garret Richards went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The bullpen took care of the rest of the game and Wander Suero was credited with his third save of the year. Adam Eaton has been in a hot streak and had another multi-hit game.

League News
J.D Martinez of the Toronto Blue Jays recorded his 300th career home run.

L, (2-7) @Nationals Park
Patrick Corbin's first start of the year lasted 4 innings in which he gave up 2 runs. He also struck out 7 Cubs and threw 73 pitches. Phelps and Rainey struggled in the middle innings and allowed 5 runs. Jason Castro went deep in the ninth to get us on the board.

L, (2-8) @Nationals Park
Another Kendal Graveman rough outing as he gave up 5 runs in 5 innings. Torres-Costa gave up 2 runs and Drew Harrington one more to allow the Cubs their 4th win in a row. Juan Soto had a 2-run home run in the 8th inning.

L, (3-5) @Nationals Park
We were swept by the Cubs at home. Max Scherzer´s allowed 3 earned runs and punched out 7 rivals. The offense could not come up big against James Paxton and trailed all game. Ryan Zimmerman had a good game and went 3 for 4 with 2 runs batted in.

Roster Moves
Kendal Graveman was demoted to AAA. Trevor Bauer who was injured in April was recalled from his rehab assignment.

League News
Anthony Rizzo suffered a broken hand and will be out for the rest of the season.
