Following yesterday's rainout, the Indians will end their series in Detroit with a Sunday doubleheader against the Tigers. The struggling Indians offense has scored only one run in their last 19 innings.
The Indians signed free agent SS Gene Mauch to a minor league contract.

In the bottom of the second, Delsing hit a solo home run 379 feet to put the Tigers on the board first.
In the top of the third, the Indians got on the board when Glynn scored from second thanks to a Boone throwing error after fielding a Doby grounder with two out. Doby, however, was thrown out at home by Tuttle when he tried to score from second on a Rosen single.
In the bottom of the third, Tuttle put the Tigers back in the lead with an RBI single. The Tigers then loaded the bases with nobody out. Boone brought a run in with a sacrifice fly.
After three: Detroit 3 Cleveland 1.
In the top of the fourth, a two-out RBI single by Glynn made it a one-run game.
In the bottom of the fifth, Kaline put the Tigers back up by two with an RBI single.
In the top of the sixth, the Indians loaded the bases with one out. But Glynn grounded into the 4-6-3 to retire the side.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kuenn got a two-out RBI single.
After six: Detroit 5 Cleveland 2.
In the bottom of seventh, Ray Narleski took the mound for the Indians.
In the top of the eighth, with runners at first and second and one out, Bob G Miller took the mound for the Tigers. Strickland got the Indians back in the game with an RBI single.
In the bottom of the eighth, Don Mossi took the mound for the Indians.
In the top of the ninth, Ray Herbert took the mound for the Tigers with a two-run lead. Doby hit a one-out double but was thrown out at third by Tuttle trying to turn it into a triple and that ended the Indians chances at a comeback.
The two teams combined for 22 hits in the contest.

In the bottom of the eighth, Ray Narleski took the mound for the Indians.
In the top of the ninth, Glynn picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly. But it was not enough to prevent the series sweep.
The Tigers got 10 hits in the win.
