I shut it down after my last post, because one of sons, in rooting through a closet for old games for game night, came across two Strat-O-Matic game boxes, that were bought probably 20 years ago at the Salvation Army store. They were, it seemed, little played, and in great shape. the 1982 and 1984 seasons. The were priced at $2.50 each. They also later found an SOM hockey, but we haven't opened it yet. We're gonna work them into a game night for sure. I'll kill them.
Actually the reason I'm not going right to bed is because I'm cooling down from me best start with them in Samurai Swords, the game my son was getting when the other stuff was found. It's Risk type game that was originally called "Shogun," and was put out to capitalize on the popularity of the mini-series based on the James Clavell novel. There actually a log book inside the game that documents my string of failures. Anyway, we played for two hours and my set up has been my best yet, I think. They've only figure out half my moves before I know them, down from my usual 90%.
Anyway, that will be left set up and returned to over the coming days. It takes awhile. I'll report on anything interesting that comes from the SOM.
What this long introduction is for is to say that Hooterville clings to a one-game lead over Brigadoon in OL ST165. However, the race is still five wide, with only Port Ruppert with little seeming shot. They have only four games left and even a sweep of them would have them just a bit above .500.
The rest of the league has a ton of games left, with some teams close to doubling their schedule. Vlora plays the least at 7, but those seven are all against Brigadoon and all on the road, so their path would seem a steep one. Anyway, here's the standings. I'll post the remaining schedule using my abbreviations immediately after this.
