Today is the second game in the series in Chicago between the Cubs and the Brooklyn Superbas. Yesterday, the Cubs improved to 7-0 on the season in one-run games.

In the top of the first, McCarthy scored from third when Hofman made an errant throw after fielding a Jordan grounder and the Superbas had their first run before they had their first hit.

In the bottom of the first, Steinfeldt tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

In the top of the third, McIntire scored from third when Casey grounded to second.

Despite having given up two runs, Wicker had a no-hitter through three.

After three: Brooklyn 2 Chicago 1.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hofman scored from third when Jordan muffed a Sheckard grounder and the score was tied again. The Cubs then loaded the bases with one out. Steinfeldt gave the Cubs the lead with a sacrifice fly.

In the top of the sixth, Lumley lined a one-out single for the Superbas first hit of the game. Alperman tied the game with a two-out RBI single.

After six: Brooklyn 3 Chicago 3.

In the bottom of the eighth, Kling scored from second when Alperman committed a throwing error on a Hofman two-out grounder.

In the top of the ninth, with runners at second and third and two out, pinch hitter John Hummel gave the Superbas the lead with a 429 foot home run.

The two teams only combined for 8 hits in the contest. The Cubs committed 5 errors leading to 5 unearned runs.

Final score: Brooklyn 6 Chicago 4.
