Don't look at range factor. It's largely meaningless.
A bad SS with a ground ball staff will have a higher RF than a good SS with a fly ball or K staff.
This is also a factor in ZR, but it's mitigated because ZR accounts for plays not made whereas RF doesn't
A -25 is terrible. Especially in part of a season.
You mentioned that you just turned on recalc. As I said, in the years preceding your sim Jeter was often a -10 or worse (-23 in 2000).
Looks like you started off with a poor defensive Jeter and the development engine ran with it. He should improve with the recalc next year.
