Actually, just in case this helps anyone else, the answer to the first one is NO.
There are a lot of NeL players who appear in the minor leagues *before* 1920. They are almost all rated as very fringe major league performers, if they make it at all--even the HoF level superstars (HR Johnson, Pete Hill), and others who were shoo-ins to play if MLB were integrated (Hurley McNair, Julian Castillo).
BUT, they are there. So you can do things to them if you want.
