Yesterday Bobby Erbakan's eye almost cost him his hitting streak, as he walked twice after having hit into a ground out in his first inning at-bat. But when he led off the bottom of the 8th inning by cracking the second pitch he saw for a screaming line drive single through the hole on the right side of the infield, Brewers fans erupted from their seats with joyful cheers.
Those cheers would be even greater when Rich White doubled to lead off the bottom of the 9th, moved to third on a ground ball out to first base off the bat of Joe Willemse, and scored on a seeing-eye ground ball up the middle for a single by Kirk Patnode.
