7 May 2296 – Kowalski Has Episode, Out for Game 1
Abernathy Adamantium RF Donny Kowalski will be out for today’s game after he needed to be treated with chems for a psychological episode. Kowalski, who was orphaned as a child and had to raise himself on the docks of the Atlantic, has had a tough life and sometimes need what Adamantium owner Blake Abernathy called, “unwinding time.”
Kowalski was found naked outside Starlight Drive-In on the nearby train tracks shouting over and over, “Daddy, here there be monsters!” Team officials were not sure what he was referring to, but since Kowalski was orphaned, it could have been a deathclaw or radscorpion attack that did his parents in.
Kowalski was escorted to the clinic at Starlight Drive-In where he was administered Calmex. Abernathy indicated that Kowalski would rest from today’s 1:05 start time. Abernathy hopes the chems work so that Kowalski can play tomorrow.
On the season, Kowalski is batting .342 with five doubles, a triple, 11 runs, six RBI, two walks, four strikeouts, and a stolen base.
CBO Commissioner Nate Howard has talked about his own background and dealing with a psychological trauma from which many war veterans in the Old World suffered. He said that people that experience deeply traumatic events can sometimes wake up and see a world that is not there. That could be an explanation for the event.
