Arakawa Brushes With History, Vipers Hurl 1-Hitter

In game 2 of their playoff series, Mumbai Vipers ace
Taki Arakawa took a no-hitter into the 9th inning, coming oh-so-close to stamping his name in the record books. He dominated the Melbourne Mudfish all day long before finally allowing a one-out double in the top of the 9th inning. He exited after hitting two straight batters to load the bases, but Hisao Ota coaxed a flyout to close it out and seal the one-hitter. With the win, Mumbai pulls even at 1-1 in the series.
