DCR – COUNTY CROSSING BLOODBUGS (8-10) AT FINCH FARM FOUR LEAFS (11-7)
WHAT TO KNOW
Though these two teams are only separated by three games, this looks to be a tale of two teams going in opposite directions.
County Crossing has yet to find its consistency, and that has led to a team that has no place where it stands out against other Brotherhood League teams. The offense could use more production, and the defense needs to find its footing to support the pitching.
The Four Leafs have been winning in shootouts so far, leading the BL with 129 runs and giving up the 4th most runs, 112. That means they will play close and win close, with the occasional blowout win or loss.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM COUNTY CROSSING
The Bloodbugs have been pretty good at getting batters on base, but they are not scoring those runners enough. If they can find their hits from a decently good 1-4 portion their lineup, the Bloodbugs could shock the Four Leafs.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM FINCH FARM
Finch Farm should score seven or more runs per game. If their starting rotation continues doing what it does, that should mean late-game leads in all three games. If Matt Pageturner, Steve Rocky, and Josh Dude pitch as expected, this should be the Four Leafs' series.
KEY PLAYERS IN THE SERIES
CC: 1-2 Hit-Hit - Leadoff batter Tom Mastodon and second hitter Joel Carrotflower are lighting up the BL, hitting .476 and .416, respectively. County Crossing needs that to continue to have a chance in this series.
FF: The Wrath of the Tato - Peter Tatoeater has been on fire through the first six weeks, hitting .440 with 6 home runs and 24 RBI. His six homers only trails Nordhagen Beach's Michael Fogcrawler in the BL, and his 24 RBI and 17 extra-base hits both lead the BL.
PREDICTION: Four Leafs do not need luck, win all three.
