I Digress

I have been a journalist for a long time now. I will say these days it is all about the progress we have made. My job used to be tougher than it is now, so this is not to complain but to explain.
The Commonwealth has changed a lot over the years. When I was way too young to take on the responsibilities of adulthood, I had no choice but to take care of my little sister when my father was murdered. His murder meant that Nat and I became orphans, and then suddenly I had to grow up.
Now I am building upon a change in the Commonwealth in a different way, building upon an empire. We are still working out the kinks of the technology and infrastructure, but I am using the premier of the Commonwealth in building my own media empire.
It was at first just Publick Occurrences, a small newsletter that my sister and I poured our hearts into when we were much younger. Then I was looking to out synths and monitor the Institute from within the confines of Diamond City. Synths and the Institute were the bogeymen of the Commonwealth, which was true for awhile, until Blue changed that. Then we changed our efforts towards general Commonwealth news reporting and clean up. At that point, I expanded Publick Occurences to a media umbrella, which I called Pipercom.
Now, I have acquired the rights to the pre-war company BosCom. Through BosCom, I am looking to rediscover television and make it where every home in the Commonwealth has both a radio AND TV. That is the American way of things, right? And I hope to make the CBO a part of that media empire, showing at least one game every day to a live audience who can watch it as far as our signal allows.
There are miles to go before we are there, though, and 2297 may be too early a time to broadcast those games. However, we are setting April 1, 2297, as our goal to have some sort of television signal, even if it is on a closed circuit scale at first. That would be a major accomplishment. Isabel Cruz and Kent Connolly have been helping me on that trail. Nate Howard has chipped in where he can help. The Institute and Brotherhood of Steel have joined in on efforts to acquire, repair, and understand past technologies. There is a lot going right here.
As another bit of news, I have been in Fairline Hill Estates, and I now have permission to pass on this news. I have been negotiating with Nate and Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai owner Eleanor Scarface. We have agreed in principle to the following:
1. BosCom, formerly Pipercom, will begin an immediate sponsorship of the Yao Guai team. While we are still working on how we will run the company, I do have access to a number of BosCom insignia, so I will put the Pipercom properties, including Publick Occurences and our radio news correspondent programs that are broadcast on the two Commonwealth radio stations, DC Radio and WRVR, all under BosCom.
2. Since we are concentrating on providing TV signals to the Commonwealth, the other part of the takeover will be delayed. However, as early as 2297 and as late as 2298, I will become the acting owner of the Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai. At this point, I plan to maintain the team location and name, but there will be more corporate sponsorship logos around the Yao Guai Circle facilities. We will also look to recruit more settlers to the area by opening an affiliated BosCom office
3. We are currently in negotiations of how Fairline Hill Estates can expand its territory. It is a closed-off area, but we would consider expanding south to include the area of Milton General Hospital and the Fallon's Department Store headquarters. That is also Shaw High School territory, so we need to work out more details among Arlen Glass, Nate Howard, and myself.
Because of this breaking news and having to attend meetings in and around other areas, I have been unable to directly interview players for my weekly-planned column. However, I have used the ESAU system while at Fairline Hill Estates to communicate with other players and have made some notes. I will hope to bring you a feature on one or more players next week.
I hope this news is as exciting to you as it has been to me, the employees of Publick Occurrences and Pipercom, and the people invested in improving technology in the Commonwealth.
