Now here's the profile for the Bisons' current hitting coach. It may be a bit long, but if it is, so be it, folks.
Brad Peters was born on February 22, 1894 in West Chester, Ohio to Ethan Ezra and the former Honey Sweet, as their fifth son and tenth child. Four of his older siblings were already grown, with two already married with children, when he was born to his parents who'd both recently turned fifty years old themselves. He would be their last child, as it later turned out, although they'd both hoped for a dozen biological children of their own, in truth.
He grew up mostly in southern Ohio near Cincinnati while being raised by a professor and a housewife and part-time bakery worker. Books a-plenty were quite frequent companions out of scholarly or athletic pursuits. Baseball and other sports frequently occupied his time, but he still was an excellent student, generally speaking, much more often than not. He occasionally spent time with assorted girls or women while still growing up, occasionally at the insistence of his parents, but never got too involved with them, largely because they couldn't hold his interest very long easily enough. Finally, by the time he was out of high school, he told his parents point-blank, "Don't try to set me up with anyone else again. I'll find my own future potential wife myself, preferably with God's help and all." The never tried to set him up again.
After high school, he went to college in Texas at Wayland Baptist University. However, his schooling was interrupted by service in World War I, starting shortly after his sophomore year of college. Setting his scholastic endeavors aside until the end of the war, at least, he joined the Army, unexpectedly meeting Jared Kivett for the first of many times in his life. They soon became fairly close friends, and even served together on various missions.
When the war ended, Brad returned to Wayland Baptist University. Not long after that happened, he met the dark-skinned Adrama Bikeltu Mossacheru, the cousin of Grace Campbell, and who was also from Slaabovia just like Grace was. It wasn't too long after they met, and were graduated from college before they married in the same wedding ceremony as Jared and Grace were married in. They soon moved to Nebraska and started a family together. Seven children and almost a quarter-century later, they now live near Fremont, just a bit west of Omaha and north of Lincoln.
His baseball playing career was ultimately cut short by various injuries (some war-related), family needs, age, and being unable to play well enough against other players and/or teams, generally. Still heavily interested in doing something baseball-related for a living, he quickly signed on with the Bisons as soon as he could. He now hopes to help them have a long run of success in the near future, as best as he can.
A picture or pictures of him will be shared later, as possible, et cetera, I'm sure, Lord willing. But it may be a while before that happens, I think.
Next up to have an introductory post for themselves here in this thread will likely be the Bisons' current scouting director, Wade Haynes. Please watch for that, of course, folks. I'll probably post their current overall look's items as well in the next post, or very soon afterwards in a different post. Until next time, then, I'll close this particular post here, for sure. CD out.
