2296 Players of the Week - Week 12

BL - BL Player of the Week Named: So far in his young career, C.T. Woodard has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Brotherhood League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 17-year-old The Slog Ghouls second baseman hit at a torrid .900 clip as he collected 9 hits in 10 at-bats, 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

Woodard is hitting .371 this year with 9 home runs, 35 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 53 hits in 143 at-bats, 19 walks and a .452 on-base percentage. Woodard has played in 36 games.

IL - Institute League Winner is Nukes: It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Amari Nukes, the Sunshine Tidings Chemists 24-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Institute League Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 9 hits in 14 at-bats, compiling a .643 average with no home runs and 3 RBIs.

So far this year Nukes has 4 home runs and a .381 batting average.

ML - Kimbrough Wins ML Best Player Award: 16-year-old James Kimbrough sent shock waves through Minutemen League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Minutemen League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Kimbrough made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .667 average, 8 hits in 12 at-bats, no home runs and 1 run batted in.

Where the Goodneighbor Hancocks third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Kimbrough certainly made his mark last week.

To date Kimbrough has chalked up a .342 average with 4 home runs, driven in 15 runs and scored 42 times.

RL - Week's #1 Player: Oberland's Bugs: Jeremy Bugs is respected by most Oberland T-51s fans for his no-frills style of play. The 26-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Railroad League Player of the Week honors.

He compiled a .615 average (8-for-13) with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

This season Bugs is batting .421 with 69 hits, 4 home runs, 30 RBIs, 11 walks, .461 OBP and has scored 45 runs. He has played in 36 games.
